The proud history of the Lockhart Automotive Group originated with its founder, Freda L. Lockhart. Mrs. Lockhart became Cadillac’s first exclusive female dealer in the United States in January, 1972. Mrs. Lockhart’s son Marc Lockhart joined the business in 1974 and her daughter, Lynn Kimmel joined in 1975.
Marc Lockhart is the dealer principal of Lockhart Cadillac and directs the daily operation of Lockhart Cadillac North on Keystone Avenue and Lockhart Cadillac South in Greenwood. Marc has been named Dealer of the Year, an honor that General Motors only bestows on the most elite in the automotive business. Marc is also the former president of the Indiana Auto Dealers Association.
Lynn Kimmel directs the daily operations of LOCKHART PREFERRED PRE-OWNED, a full service department, parts department and used car dealership in Fishers. Lynn also sits on the Board of Directors of the National Dealer Council and the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Indianapolis Auto Trade Association and the Auto Dealer Association of Indiana.
The Lockhart Automotive Group is truly a family affair. Marc’s son, Corey Lockhart, is the New Car Manager at Cadillac of Greenwood and his daughter, Lindsay Walters, is the Marketing Director for the group. Lynn’s daughter Kristin Smith is the Fixed Operations Manager for the Lockhart Automotive Group.
As of 2011 the Lockhart Automotive Group includes Lockhart Cadillac in Indianapolis and Lockhart Cadillac of Greenwood, as well as its newest addition, LOCKHART PREFERRED PRE-OWNED in Fishers which opened in 2011.
Lockhart’s philosophy includes their proud reputation in both sales and service. Lockhart Cadillac is the largest Cadillac Dealership in both sales and service in the state of Indiana. Their service team includes multiple Master Technicians as well as 10 technicians who each have over 15 years of experience. LOCKHART PREFERRED PRE-OWNED is a used car dealership with experienced technicians who service all makes and models of vehicles and an extensive parts department selling Napa Auto parts.
Lockhart Cadillac has received numerous awards including Time Magazine’s Quality Dealer Award in 1978 and 1990. In 1992 they were named the #1 CSI Cadillac Dealer in the Country by General Motors. They have also received 14 consecutive Cadillac Master Dealer Awards. LOCKHART PREFERRED PRE-OWNED was recently awarded the honor of being the first Motor Trend Certified used car dealership in Indiana.
