DRIVER ATTENTION CAMERA

FIRST ALERT

If the steering wheel light bar flashes green, the system has detected that the driver may not be paying sufficiently close attention.
The flashing will stop when the system detects that sufficiently close attention to the road has resumed.

SECOND ALERT

If the steering wheel light bar flashes green for too long, Super Cruise will alert the driver to take control of steering immediately by flashing the light bar red. Also, either beeps will sound or the Safety Alert Seat will vibrate. See "Collision/Detection Systems" under Vehicle Personalization on page 251 of the Owner's Manual. Take over steering, then Super Cruise will disengage. To re-engage Super Cruise, press the Super Cruise button on the steering wheel.

THIRD ALERT

If the steering wheel light bar flashes red for too long, a voice command will tell you to take control of the vehicle.
Take control of the steering immediately; Adaptive Cruise Control and Super Cruise will disengage.
A Driver Information Center (DIC) message will indicate that Super Cruise is locked out. Super Cruise cannot be re-engaged until the next ignition cycle.
Continued failure to take over steering will cause the vehicle to slow in your lane of travel and eventually brake to a stop and an OnStar® advisor will be called. The brake lights and hazard warning flashers will come on.

NEVER USE SUPER CRUISE:

  • In difficult or uncertain driving conditions
  • When lane markings are poor or visibility is limited
  • In construction zones
  • In slippery or other adverse conditions, including rain, sleet, fog, ice, or snow
  • When not on a limited-access freeway separated from opposing traffic
  • On a road shoulder or service drive
  • In a tunnel
  • When towing a trailer

YOUR COMPLETE ATTENTION IS REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES WHILE DRIVING, EVEN WHILE USING SUPER CRUISE. MORE INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND IN YOUR CT6 OWNER'S MANUAL.

STEP 1:
In order to use Super Cruise, first press the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) button on the steering wheel to turn on Adaptive Cruise Control. The symbol will illuminate in WHITE on the instrument cluster. If Adaptive Cruise Control is already set, the symbol will be GREEN with a speed shown.
STEP 2:
When Super Cruise detects you are on a limited-access freeway, paying sufficient attention, and all other driving conditions are met (lane markings visible, GPS available, no system faults, etc.), the Super Cruise symbol will illuminate in WHITE on the instrument cluster.
STEP 3:
When it is safe to do so, press the Super Cruise button on the steering wheel to engage Super Cruise. When the symbol and steering wheel light bar illuminate in GREEN, you may remove your hands from the steering wheel. Do not remove your hands from the steering wheel unless the light bar is green, indicating Super Cruise is steering the vehicle. To disengage Super Cruise, press the Super Cruise button again or press the brake pedal.
